What Is IASTM?

Our physical therapists are certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue mobilization. They use certain instruments that have been designed ergonomically so that the therapist can locate restrictions to effectively break down the adhesion and scar tissue.

Mobilization therapy is used to treat problems affecting both upper and lower extremities which include:

Microtrauma induced into soft tissue structures causes a local inflammatory response. It initiated the reabsorption of inappropriate fibrosis and stimulates the natural healing process leading to the remodeling of affected soft tissues. It helps reduce pain, relax muscles and improve range of motion, restore strength and overall performance. Additionally, it is used to break down soft tissue adhesions, as a result of repetitive strain, trauma, immobilization, or surgery.

A physical therapist specializes in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of movement dysfunction. Our physical therapist has extensive training in human anatomy and physiology and an understanding of how manipulation of the tissues will affect physical function in order to apply soft tissue mobilization.

If you are suffering from pelvic, back, neck or just your whole body. This is the place to be.  Dr. WIinnia is amazing. She helped me with exercises i can do at home. They have a app with the exercises so I can refer to it if I forget how. They are flexible with your schedule and willing to fit you in if you need to be seen. I had hip replacement surgery about 3 years ago and have enduring a lot of hip/back pain since! I'm an active 63 yr old woman and the hip was hurting so much that even walking was painful.  I went to an Orthopedic Doc and based on my Xray, he said that I was not a candidate for hip replacement because i still had cartilage.  He suggested PT and Celebrex (an anti inflammatory) next step would be steroid shots.  I'm so glad that I went to see Dr Julius because I don't need any medication.  I received shock wave therapy, dry needling with electrification and manual manipulation.  Additionally Dr Julius gave be some additional exercises to strengthen weaker areas of hip movement.  I completed my therapy in mid May(2026) and 6 weeks later, I feel great.
