Cupping
Physical Therapist in Fishers, IN
Cupping is a decompressive manual therapy technique used to treat muscle and soft tissue dysfunction. It is one of the oldest, most effective methods of releasing toxins in the body
How Cupping Therapy Works?
In dynamic cupping, the cups are gently applied to the skin. As soft tissue begins to rise within the cup, the skin will develop a reddish hue. The cups are moved along the skin with light, medium, or strong pressure, which can be adjusted as treatment progresses. Deeper muscles, particularly in the back, can be targeted with static cupping. The cups are placed on the skin and left on the affected area for 2 to 10 minutes. With both methods of cupping therapy, patients may feel a tight sensation but the overall experience is often described as relaxing.
Cupping is generally safe for healthy people when performed by one of our trained health professionals.
Who Can Benefit From Cupping Therapy?
Cupping therapy uses myofascial decompression to release tissue and muscle restrictions. It relaxes the muscles and trigger points, can decrease swelling, and improve lymphatic flow.
Those suffering from a musculoskeletal condition like tendonitis, osteoarthritis or a ligament strain can benefit from treatment. Cupping works together with traditional physical therapy to further improve mobility, strength, stability, and movement patterns. Continue the at-home exercises prescribed by your physical therapist for even better results! Some of the side effects, like bruising and soreness, are possible.

OPT did a great job of taking the time to deep dive into my shoulder injury and provide me a clear plan moving forward. They are so good with their ultrasound that it negated the need for an expensive MRI.Posted on Google

Dr Julius Marayag helped me so much to relieve my hip pain. I'm an active 63 yr old woman and the hip was hurting so much that even walking was painful. I went to an Orthopedic Doc and based on my Xray, he said that I was not a candidate for hip replacement because i still had cartilage. He suggested PT and Celebrex (an anti inflammatory) next step would be steroid shots. I'm so glad that I went to see Dr Julius because I don't need any medication. I received shock wave therapy, dry needling with electrification and manual manipulation. Additionally Dr Julius gave be some additional exercises to strengthen weaker areas of hip movement. I completed my therapy in mid May(2026) and 6 weeks later, I feel great.Posted on Google

My partner was originally referred to Dr. Julius and Dr. Winnie by a friend, and after seeing the outstanding care he received, he referred me as well. We have both had such positive experiences that we've since referred additional friends and family members. Dr. Julius and Dr. Winnie are not only exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled physical therapists, but they are also genuinely kind, caring, and invested in their patients' success. They take the time to listen, explain things clearly, and create treatment plans that address the root cause of the problem rather than just the symptoms. The entire experience has been professional, welcoming, and effective. It's rare to find healthcare providers who combine expertise with such a personal touch. We are incredibly grateful for the care we've received and highly recommend Osteopractic Physical Therapy of Central Indiana to anyone looking for outstanding physical therapy services!Posted on Google

These physical therapists know their craft incredibly well. I didn't even know the ailments they worked on with me were healable. But methodically, using some advanced tools and techniques, they cured me of two chronic musculoskeletal issues I've dealt with for many years. Highly recommended! Just stick to their program. It may take a bit, but you'll be surprised with the outcome.Posted on Google

Dr. Winnie was very knowledgeable and carefully explained how the pelvic floor works, all the muscles surrounding it and how strengthening those muscles keeps the Elimination process operating as it should. Her enthusiasm for her work is evident, and her kindness helped me be comfortable with the process. Then I was evaluated by Dr. Louis for hip pain. I experienced dry needling for both the pelvic situation and hip pain. I learned a lot, and my hip pain has lessened in frequency. Thank you to both doctors.Posted on Google
